Senior Marine Claims Adjuster

London

£65,000 to £80,500 + Excellent Benefits**We are currently recruiting for a Senior Marine Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, a very highly regarded and well-known brand in the Lloyd's insurance market.


The primary purpose of the role is to proactively adjust a portfolio of Marine & Specie claims, ensuring that you deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers at all times.


Key Responsibilities

  • Correctly assessing Marine & Specie claims in accordance with the policy terms and conditions.
  • Ensuring that sufficient financial provisions are held for all claims within your portfolio.
  • Ensuring that the rationale for the reserve is recorded in the claims management system and that the reserve is communicated both internally and externally (to the follow market) as needed.
  • Seeking authority where a claim exceeds or falls outside of your claims authority limit.
  • Capturing the potential financial exposure to the company of all claims that you own, by recording the MPL, Triage Code and MPL % Likelihood.
  • Reviewing the actual versus expected ahead of monthly tracking meetings and quarterly reserving meetings, discussing claims trends which may impact profitability with your Claims Manager.
  • Providing high quality narratives for the weekly movement and monthly divisional claims reports.
  • Managing your claims in accordance with the Claims team KPIs, and proactively flagging where you're unable to meet KPI targets.

Key Requirements

  • Significant experience of handling Marine and Specie Claims.
  • Good understanding of policy coverage, benefits and exclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
