UHCW has an established high quality Hepatology service supported by 2 specialist Hepatology Nurses, 2 viral hepatitis nurses, and 3 alcohol specialist nurses (soon to be 5, as a further 2 have just been appointed).

We have a 5-day per week alcohol care team but are hoping to expand to a 7-day service in the future.

We have a dedicated fast-track jaundice clinic run by specialist nurses and supported by the hepatology consultant body. At present we have a dedicated metabolic liver clinic, HCC and autoimmune liver clinics. There is a comprehensive GI bleed service, with interventional radiology and TIPPS service on site.

You will:

Provide a comprehensive Gastroenterology, Hepatology,

Endoscopy, and Nutrition service to patients in Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.

Be expected to have experience in a wide range of gastroenterological conditions and to work with colleagues to deliver the service in the Trust.
Undertake unselected endoscopy lists booked to a standard template.
Take responsibility for patients under your care.

Provide a consultation service and advisory service to other clinical colleagues in other specialties within the Trust and Primary Care.

Participate in the development of the gastroenterology service, treatment protocols and guidelines and the greater knowledge in the management of gastroenterology conditions.
