The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy, and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.

We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.

These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won't be solved by science alone.

We are looking for Metrics Lead - Field Building to join our team.

As a Lead, you will help the Head of Field Building to devise and develop projects that will help the mental health science field to become more collaborative, coherent, and focused.

You will oversee several major projects within the Field Building team, including the Common Measures initiative, and deputise as necessary for the Head.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee several projects in the Field Building team, including Common Measures
  • Develop and deliver new projects aimed at making the mental health science field more collaborative, coherent, and focused
  • Work closely with the Head of Field Building and deputise as necessary both within Wellcome and at public events
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent organisational, logístical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of key stakeholders
  • A good understanding of the challenges of scientific research in general, and mental health science specifically
  • Knowledge of key issues in anxiety, depression, and psychosis and awareness of broader scientific and health fields relevant to mental health, such as environmental science
