We have a new opportunity for someone to play an important part in our journey to Net Zero.

The live events industry doesn't have a great reputation when it comes to sustainability - we build awe inspiring events, then we take them down.

Historically, this has created a lot of waste.

We're committed to breaking this cycle and leading the industry in how we design and deliver experiences with sustainability at their heart.

And we need someone to help us achieve this.

About us
We are Bray Leino Events, 100+ event professionals, working out of offices in Bristol, London, Devon, Stratford and Chicago.

We deliver upwards of 200 events every year, from exhibitions and conferences, to summits, galas, awards, product launches, roadshows and everything in between.

We work all over the globe, face to face and virtually, with brands, businesses, charities, and governments who all have one thing in common - they have a key message that needs to be delivered through the unique environment of a live event.

These are not standard events. We imagine differently. We create spaces where leaders make international headlines, and sometimes change the world.

And we have great time doing it

Role:

About the job

We've published an ambitious Carbon Reduction Plan and delivering it will require process improvements and changes to much of our business and the way we deliver our projects around the world.

You'll be working with sustainability experts across the agency to help us achieve this.

That will mean helping us create KPIs so we can measure and track our progress, always on the look-out for practical ways we can do better.

You'll develop your research skills and industry knowledge, finding new suppliers who share our sustainability commitments.

You'll gather data and information from delivery teams, suppliers, and clients to feed into our TRACE carbon calculations - both on projects and across our wider operations - and keep our Senior Leadership Team up to date with our progress.

Responsibilities

  • Work with sustainability specialists to review existing processes and support the roll out of improvement plans
  • Support the development of practical KPIs to be adopted by the organisation
  • Make recommendations for practical improvements that can be introduced in support of the organisation's Carbon Reduction Plan.
  • Work alongside delivery teams to gather and input data from suppliers into an online carbon calculator (TRACE by Isla) for both our events and the organisation's operational activity.
  • Interpret and present data to the Senior Leadership Team and wider organisation

Work with the Operations Team to identify suppliers with strong sustainability credentials and ensure evidence is in place to support this.

About you

This job will involve talking to lots of different people at all levels across our agency, stakeholders, and supply chain, so you'll be a confident communicator - written, in person, and on the phone.

We're looking for someone who can organise themselves.

Motivation won't be a problem as you'll have an interest in sustainability and live events and be keen to learn everything you can about what we do and how we do it.

We're super ambitious in our sustainability plans, so we're looking for someone who shares our commitments and enthusiasm to make our industry, and the world, a better place.

If that sounds like you, this is a brilliant opportunity.

  • You'll have a keen interest in sustainability, especially in relation to Events (Live Events and Exhibitions)
  • You are happy talking to a wide range of people throughout the agency
  • You won't be afraid to pick up the phone and have a conversation with stakeholders, suppliers and other organisations
  • You are selfmotivated and have strong communication skills
  • You are comfortable with having to organise and prioritise tasks
  • Proactive and ready to learn
  • An interest in events
