The Green Hammerton Village Shop, Post Office & Café

Short Summary

The role is to serve Post Office customers offering all of the Post Office products and services provided by our branch.

You will also undertake back office activities. You will also serve shop customers from time to time.


Full Description

Your role will include:

• Meet and greet customers and give a good impression of the Post Office, Village Shop and Café
• Provide P.O. services to customers
• Complete back office admin tasks

Skills and knowledge

• Polite and helpful when communicating with customers
• Able to use numbers and handle cash accurately and confidently
• Able to learn the shop till and PO system (full training will be provided)
• Able to pay attention to detail and keep your concentration while handling important documents
• Able to learn about the different services and forms that customers might ask about
• Able to promote these services
• Capable of working under minimum supervision and as a member of a team
• Able to work well under pressure at busy times
• Previous experience working on a till / bank / P.O. would be useful
• Can do attitude
• DBS mandatory on successful appointment

Working environment, Pay & Hours

You will work at the Green Hammerton Village Shop, Post Office & Café serving the local community in a fun and friendly environment.

You will ideally live no more than 10 miles from Green Hammerton.

Pay £11.50 per hour.

Hours will be part-time 9:00-16:00 (2 or 3 days a week) and will include every second or third Sat morning 9:00 to 13:00.

Paid holiday 20 days pro rata per annum. The P.O. is closed Sundays and bank holidays.
