Financial Investigators -Inside IR35

Contract Term: 12 months

Location:
Birmigham, Cardiff, Nottingham, Bristol or Exeter - Hybrid working available after the initial training period


We are currently recruiting for 2x Financial Investigators on behalf of The Insolvency Service

As a Financial Investigator Investigators your main responsibilities would be:

  • Communicating effectively and sensitively with a wide range of customers; for instance, bankrupts or company directors and creditors to gain information.
  • Investigating and interrogating a wide range of tools and resources to locate bankrupts, company directors and assets.
  • Visiting trading premises of sole traders, and limited companies to conduct physical inspections and in some cases close the businesses down.
  • Conducting probing interviews with bankrupts, company directors and appropriate third parties, obtaining written statements.
  • Analysing, interpreting, and reviewing business accounts and other information to draw conclusions.
  • Dealing with conflict and diffusing difficult situations.
  • Making effective decisions using evidence and information collated through various enquiries and targeted investigations.
  • Identifying potential misconduct or criminal offences in bankruptcy and liquidation cases.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records via a case management system.

You'll have relevant experience in:


  • You will have an accountancy/ financial/legal/Claims Investigator/Council Tax Investigator background
  • You will have an inquisitive mind and be able to constructively challenge at all levels to achieve the right results.
  • You are able to keep your own and the team's efforts focused on the goals that really matter and successfully manage, support, and stretch yourself to deliver agreed outcomes by being proactive and taking ownership and accountability for decisions and commitments.
  • You will have a keen eye for details and a tenacious approach to your work. An ability and willingness to make decisions when needed, even if they prove difficult or unpopular, and managing any resulting conflict or resistance in a calm and constructive manner.
  • You will have strong analytical and problemsolving skills, being able to recognise patterns and trends, to draw key conclusions from a wide range of evidence and data.
  • You will have excellent drafting skills, enabling you to produce high quality, clear and professional written materials e.g., letters to stakeholders, court reports etc.
  • You will have the ability to establish good stakeholder relationships with a range of people, using strong communication skills, to progress casework and establish facts in a clear and professional manner.
  • You will be confident in your ability to present yourself, and represent the organisation, in dealings with stakeholders.
  • You will be highly motivated, with an ability to work independently as appropriate and progress a case load.
  • Whilst the role is based in a single location there is a degree of flexibility required to meet the needs of the business for example visiting trading premises which can be at short notice.
  • You will also have the ability to write reports that support your findings.
  • Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
