About us


Contract Furniture Group Ltd is a growing business that provides contract furniture to bars, restaurants and hotels across the UK.


Purpose of the Role
To support the production and driving team to ensure goods inwards and goods outwards are processed efficiently and safely.

To be responsible for processing the receipt and put away of all inbound container and road freight, as well as the processing of all outbound shipments from the warehouse.

Inventory accuracy is the job of all Warehouse Operatives.


Responsibilities

  • Take delivery of goods and check all is in order. Sign and date the delivery notes or receipts.
  • Ensure all paperwork is in order and passed to the office in a timely manner
  • Checking goods for missing or damaged items
  • Unloading goods by hand using the correct manual handling techniques, with trolleys or forklift trucks
  • Stacking and storing safely and in an organised manner "everything in its' correct place"
  • Assist in the investigation of Goods receiving discrepancies
  • Assist in the assembly of production goods prior to despatch when required
  • Picking and packing goods for despatch in accordance with the sales order
  • Carrying out stock takes on a regular basis
  • Keep up to date with manual handling training and observe all guidelines in this respect
  • Ensure timesheets are submitted correctly and on time
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy
  • Maintain a safe working environment, paying particular attention to keeping walkways clear and access to fire escape routes free
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines
  • Ensure that your forklift licence is valid and renewed within time limits, if applicable
  • Ensure all vehicles on site are locked safely whilst not in use.
  • Report any vehicle faults identified when loading / unloading vehicles
  • Ensure all warehouse areas are closed and locked up each evening once the working day has finished to ensure safety of the building overnight, in preparation for the Production Manager to final check.
  • Demonstrate a customer focused approach and an awareness of how the goods will be received at the end of their journey
