If you are ready for a new challenge to develop your skills and want to be part of a supportive and experienced team of dietitians this is the opportunity for you.


You will join our friendly and experienced team of Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners (DAPs), Dietetic Assistants (DAs) and Nutrition Nurse Specialists who are based across the trust.

You will support our acute adult clinical team by covering a variety of wards and general outpatient clinics which may be virtual, face to face, telephone and domiciliary.


We are a large department with over 50 staff across several teams: acute, diabetes, paediatrics, community, adult weight management, home enteral feeding, public health and admin, predominately based between the 3 main sites.

This post will sit within the acute adult team although we can offer the opportunity to gain experience by shadowing the other teams.


We take A, B and C students from across the North East and North Cumbria partnership and all staff are encouraged to take part in student training - support will be provided for the successful applicant.


Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust care for patients residing from areas such as North Shields, Northumberland, Tynemouth, Hexham, Alnwick and Berwick.

We are based in the North East of England, within easy access to Newcastle Upon Tyne.

To assist in the provision of a quality Dietetic Service to the population served by the Trust.

Includes diverse in and out patient work and also provides the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of specialities including diabetes, health promotion, paediatrics, elderly care (community and in-patients), intensive care and GI Medicine and Surgery.


To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.

This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
