Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor to join our team.

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing our daily courier operations, managing a team of Transport Coordinators, and ensuring efficient and accurate handling of bookings.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead, coach, and develop the transport coordinators to achieve operational excellence
  • Plan, manage, and adjust staffing levels to meet targets and service level agreements (SLAs) for our clients.
  • Oversee the daily throughput of customer orders, ensuring ontime and highquality deliveries
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, exceeding expectations for service and communication with Speedel's clientele.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing costsaving initiatives to optimise profitability
  • Guarantee adherence to Speedel's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and all relevant safety regulations.
  • Manage disciplinary and grievance issues in accordance with Speedel's HR policies, fostering a positive and secure work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews, implement development plans for your team, and plan for team succession within Speedel's operations.
  • Compile operational data and generate reports to track performance
  • Take ownership and lead the team in achieving operational standards while meeting customer requirements
  • Manage daily communication and build strong relationships with Speedel's diverse customer base.
  • Support the sales manager to build a quality pipeline for new business opportunities

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 23 years of experience in a transport operations management role
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve results in a fastpaced logistics setting.
  • Strong people management skills to deal with the range of daytoday employee issues, as well as coach and facilitate the ongoing development of employees.
  • Customercentric approach with evidence of a strong customer service ethic and proven ability to drive improved customer focus through teams.
  • The ability to manage budgets effectively and run a commercially profitable operation
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and be fully flexible to support Speedel's operations during unsociable hours, weekends, and as required.
  • A "get the job done" attitude and a strong motivation to overcome challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transport management software (a plus).
  • A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and upholding Speedel's high standards.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to make quick decisions in a fastpaced environment

Pay:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
