The purpose of the Business Support Officer is to: Work closely with a Head of Contracts and Group Data Protection Officer to oversee the Tendering opportunities and ensure all Frameworks are recorded and under contract with each local authoritywith whom our client works with.


Key responsibilities within the job spec would include:

  • Conduct market research and analysis including trends, opportunities, competition
  • Liaison with communications around market intelligence and activity
  • Managing the tendering portals
  • Managing the tendering and bidding processes
  • Proof reading, strengthening bids
  • Advising services on contractual matters and disputes
  • Maintaining an archive of previous bids and model answers
  • Checking contracts, liaising with legal as required
  • Providing commercial and market research and intelligence
  • Supporting as requested in acquisitions

In terms skills and experiences that are typically required for this role, the following are deemed essential:

  • Experience of working in a Business environment
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • IT literate (MS Office)
  • An ability to interpret and understand a variety of information presented as reports, notices, spreadsheets and to create accurate briefings for use by senior personnel
  • Willing to participate in team meetings and discussion points
  • A University degree (Business or Social Science an advantage)
- _Should you not hold a Degree but have worked in a Local Authority or an environment related to Child Welfare and your skills are relevant to the role then that would also be favourable._
