Ensuring compliance with information management principles and data protection legislation. The Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme has been established to tackle the significant work that needs to be done to protect and preserve the heritage of the Palace of Westminster and ensure it can continue to serve as home to the UK Parliament in the 21st century.

This is an enormous and unprecedented undertaking, which is expected to be the most complex renovation programme of any single building the UK has ever seen.

As part of the IM Team, the Information Controller is responsible for contributing to the work of the Information Management Service within the R&R programme's Delivery Authority (DA) to secure programme information and data of evidentiary, heritage or social value, and ensuring its future retrievability through quality organisation and registration.


The role of Information Controller is key to ensuring that the metadata describing programme information and data assets is produced and maintained, that quality is achieved early in the programme and maintained throughout, regardless of Programme phase.

It is also key to controlling and facilitating the flow of information through the Programme, to provide auditability and assurance.


To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate experience of controlling information and data for a major infrastructure programme.

As well as experience of working in an environment going through organisational change and some knowledge of organisational change initiatives.

Understanding of ISO 19650 standards and strong digital skills are key.


Salary circa £32,000

The Houses of Parliament Restoration & Renewal Programme has been set up to tackle all the work necessary to protect and preserve this UNESCO World Heritage site.

It will be the biggest renovation of an historic building ever undertaken in the UK.
