About the Role


Operational Services For Education currently have a vacancy within the business support team to enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.


The business support function service acts as a first point of contact for education establishments to do business with a group of specific services provided by the Trafford Council.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated person to play a part in supporting and developing these services to provide the best for its current and future clients:

Assisting Operational Services for Education incorporating Catering, Cleaning, School Crossings and Trafford Services for Education in providing an efficient business support function, working collaboratively with colleagues and customers to meet the day to day service needs.


Take responsibility for maintaining staff cover details / work schedules and completing inputting in order to provide accurate management information.


Communicate effectively receiving, logging and responding to a variety of internal / external staffing and business queries / requests, offering a professional service by recording the details of the enquiries and handling them in a timely and appropriate manner, meeting service standards across all service areas.


Keep up to date with the relevant regulations, policy and legislation relating to the processing and maintaining data in a variety of IT systems, (including manual and electronic).


Assisting in maintaining the integrity of the Service by processing transactions quickly and accurately, alerting any system failures and supporting with appropriate solutions.

Processing and preparation of statistical information for stakeholders as and when required.


The service has the responsibility for working hard to exceed the expectations of our current clients and developing new ideas and opportunities for business growth, this is a rewarding role for an individual looking to build their role and develop experience.

Special Conditions
Flexible approach to work and capacity and willingness to work at any administrative site within the Borough as required.

Willing and able to travel to sites within Greater Manchester

Occasional unsocial hours/weekend working required - maximum of 5 Saturday/Sunday per annum and covering late night duties up to 7pm on occasions

to meet service needs.

Willing to cover the services' operational office hours between 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on a rota basis.
