You will have direct responsibility for the search officer post and will act as Secretary of the Bridgend Local Access Forum in the absence of the Rights of Way Manager.

You will also be responsible for protecting and promoting the rights of the public to use Access Land.


The role will require significant experience of working within a rights of way environment and an ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of public rights of way legislation, particularly in relation to changes to the network.

You should also have some experience of protecting and promoting the use and enjoyment of Access Land.

Bridgend County Borough is an area of natural beauty and diversity right at the heart of Southern Wales.

It forms part of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Countryside and has a network of over 600 Km of public rights of way and 50 Km of recreational traffic free cycle routes.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential, enabling you to deal with people with tact and diplomacy and build partnerships to meet the aims of the team.

You must have good map reading skills and be IT literate, with good knowledge of GIS.
