This position requires someone who has excellent research, writing, and communication skills, is self-motivated, reliable, organized, thorough and timely.
What will you be doing?
- Work keenly with management to identify key areas to focus funding tasks
- Manage relationships, follow up with donors and create partnerships with organisation
- Research thoroughly new funding needs and other key donors, trusts, foundations, corporate
- Create internal database of past, current and potential donors
- Keep sensitive organisational information confidential;
- Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources
- Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors
- Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting
- Work with CEO to provide input for all written institutional materials
- Comply with the policies and procedures of the organisation.
What are we looking for?
- Provable successful grant acquisition
- Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors
- Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
- Attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies
- Strong academic background and experience
- Experience in research and grant writing
Desirable - Minimum of 2 years' experience with grant writing and program management
- Previous experience with nonprofit fundraising
- Experience working in deadlinedriven environments
