We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 class in Bedlington, Northumberland. This position is temporary and available on a full or part-time basis.


As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to students in the classroom, as well as leading small group interventions to help students improve their academic skills.

You will work closely with the class teacher and other school staff to ensure that students are receiving the best possible education and support.

As a Teaching Assistant working, your duties may include:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students in the classroom
  • Lead small group interventions to improve academic skills
  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members
  • Ensure that the classroom environment is safe, supportive, and conducive to learning

The requirements for this role are:

  • GCSE English & Maths
  • Preferably qualified to an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience working with children
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners
  • A patient and caring attitude towards children
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education is desirable, but not essential

£10.30-£12.00 per hour
