4Recruitment Services are seeking to recruit a Clerk of Works to support our client based in Kingston Upon Thames. This is a full-time role which is Monday to Friday 8:00-16:00.


The Post Holder will work with the College Facilities Management Team and external consultants to assist in the delivery of key projects through to the end of September 2023.

The main focus of the Role is to work with the client design team and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of the following projects 1) Easter Fire Door replacement Works 2) Phase 2 Window Replacement Works 3) Summer Fire Door Replacement Works


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


  • Attend site meetings as one of the college representatives identifying those issues that will impact on college operations and thereafter liaising with colleagues to communicate and if necessary devising mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and implement Client actions and responsibilities as raised by the construction plan. Acting as key point of reference on site for construction contracting partners, college consultants, other college departments and curriculum colleagues.
  • Working with the design team, ensure that compliance and quality is being adhered to at every stage of a build, from the initial groundworks through to snagging and decoration works.
  • Liaison with specialist support services (e.g. IT) and PM Contractor (Mitie) within the College to ensure that appropriate and relevant support/action is supplied in keeping with the project(s) schedule.
  • Communication with Curriculum and College colleagues in a timely and appropriate manner on matters relating to the projects progress
  • Liaison with specialist College contractors and suppliers to plan and execute moves that maybe necessitated as part of the projects
  • Assess and recommend any minor purchasing requirements as part of the clients responsibility within the project brief
  • Ensure Facilities Manager is briefed and issues are transparent and presented with potential solutions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Enhanced DBS (provided by our agency if you do not have one.
  • Experience of working within the construction industry on complex projects
  • Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations
  • Knowledge and experience of best practice in the construction industry
  • Have the foresight to identify potential issues that may compromise delivery deadlines and work schedules.
  • Ability to establish positive and effective relationships with external consultants and contracting partners
  • Level 4 Qualification or equivalent in construction related discipline
  • Experience of IT and online systems
  • Strong communication skills, including advisory and persuasive skills, able to converse easily with a variety of internal customers
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely written reports and statements
  • Ability to maintain resilience in working with challenging projects
  • Ability to promote and ensure own good practice including maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to work successfully as an individual or as part of a team.
