The Team and Role


We are a team of HSEQ specialists who provide strategic and operational support to the Consulting business as they deliver innovative design solutions to our Clients and Stakeholders across the UK's infrastructure.


Our overall objective is to facilitate a workplace culture of health, safety, environment and excellence to ensure everyone across our business is safe.

Through supporting our Zero Code Policy everyone goes home safely at the end of the day no matter what role they play in our success.


Our team is key to driving the safety culture across the business and being part of this gives us the opportunity to get involved in many projects alongside our day to day business of keeping people safe.

We keep our stakeholders up-to-date with legislation and standard updates through News Alerts and Bulletins not only relating to health and safety but also Quality and Environmental; we're central to the success and safety of our teams.


The Apprenticeship


As a HSEQ Apprentice here with Amey Consulting, you'll be given real responsibility from day one, gaining invaluable experience working alongside your team.

You'll be stretched, but always supported, surrounded by people who want you to thrive and embrace new challenges, recognising hard work and looking out for your wellbeing.


You'll also be provided with a 'buddy' to assist you as you settle in, and an industry expert as a professional mentor, to help guide you towards achieving your professional qualifications.


You will be responsible for:

  • Promoting all safety, health, environmental, quality and wellbeing policies and procedures.
  • Supporting compliance with environmental and health and safety legislation.
  • Assisting with incident/quality investigations.
  • Assisting with internal audits.
  • Assisting with facilities inspections and ensuring statutory compliance is maintained.
  • Supporting HSEQ audits, events and activities.
  • Supporting the HSEQ team commitment to continuous improvement. Positively influencing quality, environmental and safety behaviours in others and helping to resolve challenges.


As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto the Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3 qualification with one of our partnered training providers.

Your Apprenticeship is fully supported through a combination of e-learning materials, and access to the Training Providers' team of specialist lecturers and coaches or 1-2-1 advice and support.

You'll get hands-on experience while collaborating with some of the best minds in the industry. Yes, you'll learn from them, but they expect to learn from you too.

Our Apprentice programme at Amey will challenge and inspire you to reach your full potential and build your career.
