Description

The ultrasound service has an exciting opportunity for Sonographers to join our team, working across a variety of clinical areas within our busy ultrasound departments.

We are a large ultrasound service covering three departments.

Our team of sonographers undertake a wide variety of examinations that includes abdominal, gynaecology, obstetrics, vascular, MSK and head & neck.

The role will assist in the provision of diagnostic services in the Ultrasound Dept.


You will be a qualified staff member in the specialty of ultrasound, qualified to a level of at least PG CERT in one specific area of ultrasound e.g.

general/obstetrics/vascular. You will be able to assess and plan your own workload of patients.


You will be able to work within department guidelines and protocols, seeking advice as and when is necessary and will be accountable for your own professional actions.

You will be required to perform routine ultrasound examinations and provide a description of findings in a range of other patient conditions reporting to and supervised by site lead sonographer/clinical lead sonographers.

You will be required to supervise support workers and trainees. You are required to work in unpredictable situations.
