Company:

Reacta Healthcare, established in 2013, operates from a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Deeside, North Wales.

It is licenced to manufacture challenge meals for use in clinical trials.

These challenge meals are currently used to diagnose and monitor food allergy in numerous worldwide therapeutic trials.

Patents for the challenge meals have been granted in a number of countries.


Reacta Healthcare is developing its in-house analytical capability and has plans in place for expansion into niche areas of food allergen development and manufacture.

This will include all aspects from sourcing through to manufacture of end product.


The Opportunity:

Due to continued growth, Reacta Healthcare are now looking to recruit a Head of Operations.


The Head of Operations is responsible for the day to day managing of the Operations team to ensure overall GxP compliance with all procedures associated with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.

The role includes the following key accountabilities;

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversees all GxP activities related to the manufacturing process
  • Supervises the Operations team to ensure the management of all operational activities that support the maintenance of the facility and use of equipment
  • Developing KPI's for each area
  • Overall responsibility for planning and schedules to identify timelines as to when jobs will be executed.
  • Oversees material specification and acquisition processes
  • Coordinates activities between internal departments, clients, and suppliers
  • Collaborates with the Engineering Manager and quality assurance representatives to adhere to the preventative maintenance scheduled as specified
  • Collaborates cross functionally to ensure site projects are delivered on time and in full
  • To lead the team and facilitate continuous improvement methodologies
  • Has a responsibility for site health and safety and product safety standards
  • Has a responsibility to ensure commitment to the quality system

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, applicants need to have the following essential skills and experience:

  • Substantial experience of working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with exposure to Engineering, Supply Chain and Production
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of any industryspecific software or programmes
  • Auditing and monitoring outputs and data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership and management skills and the ability to motivate staff
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the competitive environment
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Project management skills and knowledge of methodologies such as Agile, Lean and Six Sigma
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively and delegate when appropriate
  • A degree or equivalent (served apprenticeship as an example) in Engineering, Life Sciences or Business

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of working with Regulatory bodies such as the MHRA
  • Six sigma or other process management training
  • Certification from the Institute of Leadership and Management
