We are currently seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor to work within a small team to deliver excellence in planning compliant installation, operation and maintenance of the Group's mechanical and electrical systems ensuring assets are maintained to be safe, secure and in excellent order.

About the role
Group Print & Operations fulfil our customer requirements across the world, printing, packing and despatching millions of examination items securely to our customers around the world.
We are also responsible for managing the life changing scripts returned from our learners, preparing them for physical or digital assessment.
As Building Maintenance Supervisor, you will have lots of room for innovation with responsibility for recommending and implementing continuous improvement ideas on a wide range of electrical and mechanical plant within our Group Print and Operations distribution centres.
Key responsibilities:
Team Supervision
- Lead and coordinate the Building Maintenance Engineers/Technicians within the GPaO Engineering teams managed premises.
- Conduct performance reviews and appraisals for all direct staff discussing any development and training needs that may arise.
- Support the Assistant Engineering Manager by overseeing the Engineering team activity to maintain the highest safety standards inclusive of regulatory compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in all aspects of the engineering department.
Buildings & Equipment Maintenance
- Coordinate and undertake the annual Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and all reactive works for mechanical and electrical equipment, systems and assets.
- Plan, cost and manage electrical installation, testing and reactive maintenance repair projects, maintaining fully documented audit records.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Engineering Manager to plan and execute various maintenance, small works, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manage on site contractors to ensure that they are fully inducted and briefed about the work they are required to complete, in accordance with Company's guidelines and procedures.
- Contribute and assist with the cascade of knowledge on site systems and infrastructure to ensure the optimum function of the buildings and equipment.
Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and safe systems of work for all planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
There will be a requirement to participate in an out of hour's rota call out system and whilst this is a days-based role there may be some occasional requirement to work shifts.
About you
You will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in leadership or supervision, with a trade qualification in an electrical, mechanical, or construction discipline.
- Certified Electrical qualification to an approved grade: qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent to JIB Approved Electrician grade.
Including at least one of the following:
- Certified City and Guilds 2382 to current IET wiring regulations (BS7671).
- Certified City and Guilds 2391 inspection and testing or the new equivalent qualification.
- IOSH Working Safely (minimum)
- Managing Safely or equivalent (desirable).
- Computer literacy skills with experience using MS Office (essential)
- Competent and able to work at height (use of MEWP's is essential)
