We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice with a passion of ICT and Cyber Security to work within the ICT Security Team helping the council to remain secure.


The cyber threat landscape is constantly changing, and the challenge is to be ahead of the threats and keep the council's network, infrastructure, systems and data secure at all times.


To help us do this, we are seeking an apprentice to join us in developing and delivering secure services to support the business.


The role will suit ambitious individuals wanting to work in a highly regulated ICT environment looking for the next career move.


During your time with us you will study a level 4 Cyber security technologist apprenticeship while working in a busy ICT Security Team with challenging and varied work while getting the best training available.

You must be able to demonstrate an interest in ICT and cyber security. Great communications skills and analytical mind are essential.

You should hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 4 or above (A*-C) (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language plus:

  • computer related A-Level or
- a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT, or

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role.

Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
