Care Home Well-Being Companion:


Contract Type:
Permanent. Full Time


Working Hours:
Full Time, 40 hrs per week (Including Alternate Weekends)


Rate of Pay:
£11.00


Location:
Arbour Walk Nursing Home, Hungerford Road, Brislington, Bristol BS4 5HU.


Job Role:


  • Develops friendly and respectful relationships with Residents and their relatives.
  • Enables Residents to maintain their wellbeing by ensuring that their social and leisure needs are met according to their individual care plans, habits, and lifestyles.
  • Facilitates social and leisure activities according to Residents preferences and hobbies whether it be individual or in small group settings.
  • Promotes Whole Home Approach and works along with the Care staff to provide meaningful interactions with residents.
  • Works under the guidance of the Well-Being coordinator.

About the role

  • Enables personalised social and leisure activities for Residents in communal areas according to their interests and preferences;
  • Ensures implementation of personalised social and leisure plans for Residents according to their interests and preferences
  • Organizes daily group sessions for Residents in the activity areas.
  • Assists in the organisation of individual celebrations pertaining to special days in the Residents lives.
  • Creates seamless and enjoyable meal time experience for all the residents
  • Upholds the reputation of the home and Cedar Care

Criteria for Well Being Companion

  • Creativity, enthusiasm, patience, and empathy.
  • The ability to work independently using own initiative.
  • The ability to manages and inspire other staff members in Residents social interests.
  • Have a genuine interest in the leisure needs of the Residents and have excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to assist the participation of less responsive Residents.
  • The ability to motivate Residents who are reluctant to participate
  • To be aware of and understand Residents capabilities and limitations.
  • Some experience of working with the elderly or in a caring environment is preferred, but not essential
