  • 40k55k DOE
Our client is looking for an Account Director to join the team of an industry leading Marketing Agency.
You might be an existing Account Director or a Senior Account Manager ready for the next step.

As Account Director, you will lead and manage a client retention strategy and promote growth through continued service excellence.

You will ensure the agency meets its overall sales and margin targets and is continued to be perceived as a market leader in theirfield.

You will lead and manage a team of Account Managers and Account Executives, developing the team to give clients a proactive and highly efficient service which contributes to the success of our client campaigns.


Key responsibilities
Client Management

  • Work appropriately to cement your position as a key supplier contact within each of your clients' organisations.
  • Understand the broader organisational structure of your clients and identify key influencers, budget holders, and decisionmakers outside of your direct points of contact.
  • Work closely with your allocated clients to fully understand their aspirations, challenges, issues, key drivers, and motivations, documenting all details in the client development plan.
  • Proactively ensure, involving other parts of the business as appropriate, that your clients receive concise and relevant strategic direction from us appropriate to their aspirations.
  • Appropriate to your clients' categorisation (black/platinum/gold), work to maximise opportunities to productively meet and engage with client key contacts.
  • Proactively monitor and communicate the offers, opportunities, and threats to your clients posed by competitors and external forces; stay aware of developments to further enhance the services we can offer to our clients.
  • Working appropriately and sympathetically with all delivery teams, internally and externally, to best promote the key aims of your role and the best interests of your clients.
Team Management

  • Ensure client quotations are prepared and reviewed with the appropriate level of detail and to the expected quality standard. The Account Director must sign off on all quotes prepared by their team.
  • Prepare and present monthly team report covering all agreed KPIs, department updates, and other relevant information to be presented to at monthly meeting
  • Hold regular meetings with the team and keep them up to date
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the Account Managers and Executives, providing people management support where required and working with the Delivery and Development team to identify training and development needs.

To be considered
You will have demonstrable client facing experience and good team management skills.

We are looking for a warm, friendly but professional personality with the appropriate level of gravitas for this key role.

You will be an experienced presenter with soundanalysis skills. A high level of numeracy and literacy with a forensic eye for detail will be expected.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills able to converse comfortably with all levels of staff and clients, including over the telephone and face to face
  • Clientorientated with a clear understanding of the business environment and the Company's goals
  • Accustomed to multitasking, working to deadlines, and effectively prioritising work with competing deadlines
  • Ability to remain calm and measured in pressurised situations
  • Strong Leadership skills and management of the Account Management Team priorities
  • Comfortable working with evolving processes and procedures
  • Commercially driven and able to meet deadlines
  • Proven history and experience in a similar role
