This hybrid role will be based from our London office in Canary Wharf.


Do you want to execute and generate original ideas for the energy markets? Want to break stories on behalf of the world's leading news agency? If so, this role might be for you.


Reuters is seeking an experienced
Energy Correspondent to break international stories in London. Here, you'll move effortlessly from covering physical cash markets, spot news and long-term enterprise stories on international energy flows, trading strategies, boardroom upheaval and investment trends across the energy sector.

Global energy policy is evolving rapidly.

As governments seek to contain the political impact of high oil prices and tight fuel supplies on inflation and consumer spending, many countries are moving toward cleaner energy solutions.

As an
Energy Correspondent at
Reuters, you'll deliver breaking news on oil production, consumption, transportation, storage, exports, imports and energy policy.


The Role

As
Energy Correspondent at
Reuters you will:


  • Produce agenda-setting coverage for both our core energy and commodity markets and our media, investor and financial professional audience.
  • Join a team with a hardwon reputation for providing marketleading industry spot news and market coverage.
  • Generate and execute original ideas for initiative stories.
  • Be a strong allround journalist comfortable breaking news and filing at speed as well as working on longform pieces.
  • Work closely with the global energy team.

About You
You're a fit for the role of
Energy Correspondent at
Reuters if you have:

  • Demonstrable experience of covering energy markets (experience in physical crude or fuel market coverage a plus).
  • A proven ability to develop deep sourcing and break news and a track record of both reporting and writing longform stories.
  • A strong news judgment and the ability to write with speed, clarity and accuracy.
  • Experience using data and analytical tools in story telling.
