Overall Role:
Maximising opportunities to reach D/deaf people, children and families to raise awareness of the services available and facilitate their engagement.
Duties:
- To organise and deliver a range of community-based activities and events to engage with potential service users across our service delivery area
- To develop and coordinate self-help and social groups to reduce isolation and provide peer support to specific client groups
- To lead on the recruitment and supervision of volunteers including appropriate policies, training and DBS checks
- Provide accurate and appropriate information and guidance relating to deafness and associated issues
- Participate in local networks to promote services and to raise awareness of the needs of D/deaf people in service provision
- Work with key partners and stakeholders to address identified need through the development of local provision.
- Delivery of outreach drop in services in Knowsley including, customer satisfaction and associated promotional activities.
- Promote and raise the profile of Deafness Resource Centre to the wider community and local service providers using social media, literature and presentations/networking.
- Co-ordinate the planning and delivery of Deaf Awareness sessions and accredited training courses, including the maintenance of student records and liaison with external partners.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services and implement improvement plans to ensure continual improvement across all service areas
- Produce service reports as required to meet organisational and funding requirements.
- Undertake appropriate training and learning opportunities to fulfil the role to its full potential and to strive for continuous personal development
- Act within the DRC's policies and procedures particularly Health & Safety, the promotion of equality of opportunity and Safeguarding of adults and children.
- Undertake any other duties within the scope of the role as directed by line manager.

£19,813.00 per year
