We have recently announced the acquisition of SAS Energy, specialists in providing solar technology for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors.

SAS Energy is now a fully owned subsidiary of EDF Renewables UK, bringing along a team of 30 solar experts and a portfolio of over 45 projects in development and construction.

This is your opportunity to be Project Buyer working on some of the most exciting solar projects

The opportunity_**Based in Edenbridge, Kent with hybrid flexibility you will be our Project Support Buyer responsible for liaising with the suppliers to gain 3 quotations which will then be reviewed with the Project manager & site manager, material and/or services required for any project, to ascertain whether cost, product & timelines are suitable to meet client contract & project programme timelines.

What you'll be doing_**You'll be responsible for placing orders against supplied quotations for product, materials & or services, or cost saving by placing separate orders against individual line items from the 3no supplied quotations in addition to;

  • Liaising with suppliers to build up customer relations & look at best ways to reduce project, business product expenditure/costs.
  • Updating cost sheets with orders placed
  • Querying any invoice with a supplier that does not match any agreed purchase order (in conjunction with the relevant Project manager & or Site Manager) relaying this invoice query into the accounts team.
  • Assist with other parts of all project/works and all parts of the business as and when necessary & instructed.
  • Liaise with SAS/TERC warehouse to arrange deliveries and collections in conjunction with haulage companies.
  • Ensure efficient use of any stock product SAS /TERC have to use on other sites.
  • Liaise with warehouse and site managers on any returned stock to ensure that you become aware of any over orders and possible future available stock.
  • What do you need to be great at this role?
  • You'll be well educated with excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise your workload. Previous experience of purchasing, costing, buying within construction or electrical wholesale would be a distinct advantage. You'll have passion and ambition with a strong interest in renewable energy.
