Three Rivers District in South West Hertfordshire straddles the north west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London.

The Department:
The Trees and Woodlands team sits within the Leisure and Natural Infrastructure Service.

The team are responsible for a variety of tasks, including the Council's statutory responsibilities in respect to legally protected trees and planning work; the management of Council owned trees; handling tree related enquires from the public and planting new trees on council land.


The Role:
This is an exciting new role with the opportunity to work towards a Level 4 Arboriculturist Apprenticeship.

The main purpose will be to assist the Tree and Woodlands Officer in providing a holistic tree management service on behalf of Three Rivers District Council and supporting the implementation of the Council's Tree and Nature Recovery Strategies.


What we are looking for:

  • A dynamic individual, who is keen to learn and willing to get stuck in with a variety of tasks across the Trees and Woodland Team. You will need to have good communication skills and have the ability to work with local residents, colleagues and contractors. Knowledge or a passion for trees and / or the natural environment would be advantageous.

You will need to have 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English and a UK driving license.


What we offer:
- £22,955 per annum.
24 month Fixed Term Contract, with potential to be extended.

Level 4 Arboriculturist Apprenticeship with Myerscough College (the course is expected to start in Autumn 2024)
