Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 202437 Hours per week, to work flexibly to suit the needs of the clients. Some weekend or evenings may be needed
This position is open to any person with an interest to change and support the lives of homeless people who are experiencing domestic abuse or are affected by unhealthy relationships.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual who appreciates a diverse and inclusive range of experiences, cultures, and backgrounds to join our team.
Previous experience in this type of work is not essential but you will have transferrable skills and willingness to learn.
Safe in Sussex and Stonepillow will provide a wonderful package of training to upskill you into this role.
You will work closely with our clients, staff teams and partners to create real change in the lives of homeless people who are experiencing unhealthy relationships.
By providing 121 support to clients, leading group work to clients and upskilling staff with your new training, this role will support the most at risk in our community.
To ensure that what you deliver using a trauma informed approach, Safe in Sussex will provide supervision to ensure that you are able to maintain your own positive wellbeing.
No experience of this role is needed previously but you will have to show a drive for learning new skills and knowledge and have the compassion and tenacity to work with clients towards positive change.

Provide critical domestic abuse advice on complex cases
Carryout risk assessments and support clients in co-producing safety plans
Deliver group domestic abuse awareness and recovery programmes including ACE Recovery Toolkit to clients
To provide training and support to staff working on specific cases where domestic abuse is a critical area.
To deliver domestic abuse, ACEs and trauma informed training to Stonepillow staff.
To attend multi-agency meetings and case conferences as required
To work collaboratively with Stonepillow and Safe in Sussex
In order to be successful in this role:
Experience of facilitating groups
Good knowledge of multiple complex factors which contribute to the risk of homelessness including domestic abuse/violence, mental health, substance misuse and economic disadvantage
Excellent ability to communicate with a wide range of people to develop and form constructive relationships
Ability to advocate on behalf of clients to other professionals
Good computer literacy skills including case management database
