Description

We are looking for an efficient, conscientious, well-motivated, enthusiastic and experienced admin support, with the skills to provide dedicated clerical support to both the clinical and administrative teams to the Cardiology department.

The post will be based in Colchester Hospital, working with a well-established, high achieving and committed team.

In this post you will provide efficient and pro-active secretarial and administrative support to the consultants and other team members.

You will be the first point of contact for patients and will deal with a range of queries. You will work as part of our administrative team in supporting and covering other colleagues in the department.

The key aspect of this role involves dealing with the public as well as support typing for the department, hence you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have proven IT experience.

The Cardiology department is very busy, so you must be able to work under pressure.

The post holder will be responsible for working independently providing a full range of secretarial and administrative support and therefore must be highly organised and show the ability to prioritise a busy workload.


In this role you will be responsible for carrying out administrative duties, adhering to policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive and high quality service.

You will to be able to deal efficiently and courteously with patient and staff enquiries.

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to prioritise and adapt to constant demands on the workload as well as be able to demonstrate the ability to work as a team member.

Relevant experience within an administration team is essential.


Skills required for the post include: excellent typing and audio skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, effective time management skills, good IT and secretarial skills, PTL related validation, good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills.
