Teaching assistant/s needed - working with Special Needs Children

Experience dosent necessarily have to come from within the classroom. You may have experience working with special needs children/ young adults in a different setting, e.g. care, support, residential, or even personal experience. If you are not sure if you have enough experience, but you are highly interested in the role, it's more than worth your time to give us a call, to discuss your options.

What can I expect from this role?_

  • To work alongside the teacher and other support staff, to provide individual and small group instruction to students with special needs.
  • To provide support to students with physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • To assist with daily living activities, including feeding and toileting.
  • To collaborate with other teachers and therapists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student.
  • To monitor and track student progress, and to provide feedback to the teacher and/ or parents.

What are the requirements? Do I need qualifications?_

  • The most important thing to have is previous experience working with children or young adults, who have special needs. As mentioned previously, this experience can come from any setting, not just school based.
This is a full-time position (part-time may be considered in special circumstances) with very competitive pay.


Salary:
£75.00-£95.00 per day
