Trident Group has over 60 years' experience of delivering homes, services and innovation for up to 8,000 people in over 3,400 homes in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands.

It employs more than 850 staff, works with many volunteers and provides training places and apprenticeships as part of the employment package.

The Group consists of:

  • Trident Housing, which provides landlord services for the Group in respect of housing management and maintenance
  • Trident Reach, which is a registered care and support charity providing services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and those who have been victims of domestic abuse across all age groups across the Midlands.

About the role


The purpose of the Communications Officer is to deliver a first class integrated communications platform to staff, tenants, customers and stakeholders using the full mix of channels and to ensure that Trident Group has a strong, clear and consistent brand.

The Communications Officer will have responsibility for leading on the Group's design and in-house marketing activities in addition to delivering both internal and external campaigns, projects and day to day activity across the full spectrum of marketing and communications.


Key Responsibilities

  • To assist the Communications and Fundraising Manager on all aspects of the Group's marketing and communications activities.
  • To work within the Communications Team to develop core communication and marketing activities for the Group, including external communications for various stakeholders including tenants and customers, and internal communications for staff, management and Board members.
  • To lead on developing and implementing Group content strategy for internal and external channels in line with the Group's brand identity and objectives to include market research, SEO and user experience
  • To design and produce communications and promotional materials (print and digital) for internal and external use, undertaking all aspects of the process from copywriting to distribution of the finished products.
  • Manage the key corporate communication channels including website, SharePoint, newsletters/magazines, press releases, statements and social media ensuring these platforms are updated regularly reliable and accurate information.
  • To contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of integrated Communications and Marketing strategies for the Group.
  • To organise promotional materials and exhibition materials as required.
  • To coordinate the Group's image bank ensuring that a photographic record is maintained of key events.

  • To lead on maintaining the Group's website include design, content management.
  • Work in collaboration with all areas of the business to develop an integrated approach to communications, PR and web content.

About you


We are looking for an approachable, enthusiastic, inclusive, and creative Communications Officer to join our small but passionate and ambitious team.

This role will be responsible for leading on the Group's design and in-house marketing activities as well as supporting with PR, external and internal communications.


Skills required:


  • Experience of delivering and managing highly effective communications and marketing projects and activities for a large and complex organisation.
  • Evidence of strong ICT skills including experience of using Microsoft Office and SharePoint, website content management systems (Finetune or Wordpress) and design software (Adobe CS).
  • Experience of using a range of communications and marketing techniques to deliver projects.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising multiple communications and marketing projects, including managing budgets and external suppliers.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative flair and imagination.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to the principles of equality and diversity.
  • Knowledge of the housing, care and support sectors.
