SDET - Software Developer in Test (Java)

Location:
London, 2 days on-site a week


Salary:
£80,000 - £110,000 (depending on experience - multiple positions available at different levels)

Our London based FinTech client require an experienced SDET skilled in hands-on Core Java coding and Automation testing.

Your role will essentially act as an extension of the Engineering team, strong Java coding and API experience is a must with extensiveAutomation testing experience with tools such as Selenium and Cucumber.


As the successful SDET, you will contribute to ensure the Agile Engineering teams in efficiently producing automated Selenium tests, contributing strong Java code to support the development of automated frameworks and tests.

This SDET position requires youto play a key role in Java coding decisions, team planning as well as contributing to the decisions around the architecture and design of test frameworks.

You will also have the responsibility of conducting code and test reviews to help improve and maintainthe quality of work across the team.


Key skills required for the SDET:

  • Extensive experience in Automation Testing
  • Java coding/development experience is essential
  • Experience with Agile test practices
  • Experience testing backend systems or APIs
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Computer Science degree


On a day-to-day basis, the SDET will be involved in the product design process from its early stages, create both test plans and cases, develop automated tests and work with the developers to understand the architecture.


The primary language used by the Engineering team is Java, you will also work with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka and MongoDB.
