An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 4Medical Secretary/Admin Coordinatorwithin the Adult Cystic Fibrosis team. This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hrs a week over 5 days.The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service offers comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and home care. All patients have an annual assessment of their condition and treatment plan.
There is a specialist inpatient Adult CF Unit on Lonsdale Ward and the CF team also run three segregated outpatient clinics every week.
The team manages CF-related complications with the support of King's specialist diabetes, liver, microbiology, gastroenterology, physiology, cardiothoracic and radiology services.
Secretarial/Administrative
To provide a full secretarial service to the Clinicians including audio typing/transcription or processing of clinical letters (some of a distressing nature), reports, ad-hoc correspondence and in-patient summaries using the EPR and PIMS systems or other hospital networked systems ensuring that quality standards are met
To ensure that all clinic letters and summaries are typed and sent to the GP within 5 working days.
To ensure all patient demographic details are checked and any amendments/ corrections are carried out in an accurate and timely fashion.
To act as a first point of contact for users of the Trust, dealing with telephone calls and enquiries promptly and efficiently, providing immediate and response and referring as necessary.
These will include personal enquiries from patients and their relatives, as well as calls from GPs, clinicians, students, nursing and administrative staff, at all times understanding the sensitive nature of calls.
To manage consultants, leave and update all team rotas: for Consultant of the Week, A/L, Rotawatch etc, maintaining rota calendars for the team as required
To initiate, where appropriate, finding the medical records in order for the clinicians to
To request and assist with cancelling clinics as needed
