About the role

  • As an Assistant Buyer, within our UK Commercial team reporting into the Buying Manager, you will play a critical role as you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure a seamless flow of products that meet our quality and commercial standards. As a datadriven Assistant Buyer, with exceptional commercial acumen, you will play a pivotal role in developing the Moonpig gifing range.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities for our existing range
  • Develop new and innovative gifting propositions for the UK market
  • Influence the product road map with developments that enhance the UK gifting offer
  • Work with marketing, sales, and operations teams to drive growth
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies
  • Analyse market data and trends
  • Stay uptodate on industry news and developments
  • Represent Moonpig UK at trade shows and industry events
  • Work closely with other Buyers to deliver a strategic and cohesive noncard vision

Skills we are looking for:


  • Previous experience in a commercial team in a tech led business
  • Proven ability to deliver growth through range
  • Experience working across innovation categories
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills

About you:


  • You should have proven and relevant experience within a buying/commercial team preferably in the ecommerce, retail, or gifting industry.
  • You should have exceptional data analysis skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
  • You should have strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence suppliers to achieve favourable terms.
  • You should have excellent commercial acumen with a deep understanding of market dynamics, pricing, and cost structures.
  • You should have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • You should have strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.
  • You should be adaptable, and comfortable working in a fastpaced, dynamic environment with changing priorities, having the ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed decisions based on available data and insights.
