The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland's national awarding and accreditation body.

We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges, and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for an Project Administrator to work within the Communications Directorate in our Strategy team.

The strategy team provides strategic guidance and support for Directorate planning, prioritisation, resourcing, and measurement.

We coordinate delivery and measurement of the Directorate strategy through a suite of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) showing the main deliverables and measures across teams.


  • Act as point of contact for the team leading these areas of work, organise group meetings, prepare agendas and minutes and ensure action points are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Deal with team correspondence, collate information and compile reports, ensuring decisions made are communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Generating and maintaining accurate records in various formats, ensuring information is up to date, stored securely, is readily retrievable and complies with data protection legislation.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with peers and colleagues, be able to analyse information collated from meetings.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership team to coordinate and report on Directorate activities.
  • Working with communications directorate teams to develop and implement their objectives and then, collaborate with senior team leads to help them implement, manage, and assess the success of the objectives.
Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, in particular diary management and the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Previous experience in an administration role.
  • Ability to write concise and accurate minutes of meetings.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft office, excel and outlook.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and use own initiative.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships.

Desirable

  • Experience of administration in a diverse and fastmoving environment.
  • Experience of working with different databases. E.g., SharePoint, Teams


Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 6 (SVQ3/Higher) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
