Salary - £32,590 per annum + Company Car


Contract - Permanent


Hours - Minimum of 35 hours per week (Flexible approach - Mon to Sun work pattern)

We are looking to recruit a Divisional Children's Worker to provide practical knowledge and expertise in the development and delivery of children's work strategy and enable local corps and centres to raise leaders and children who are disciples of Jesus in our tradition of social change and justice.


Ireland Divisional Headquarters is in Belfast and the applicant will be required to travel there at least weekly as well as visiting various areas across the Ireland division including Dublin.


Key responsibilities:


  • Equipping and inspiring children to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ.
  • Equipping and empowering children's leaders to enhance their communities and engage with children and the issues that affect them.
  • Growing The Salvation Army's work with children through effective communication throughout the division.
  • Enabling children to experience 'Fullness of life with Jesus' in broader contexts through creative events and residential opportunities.
  • Contributing into the planning and review process for the programmes and activities across the division.
  • A degree with relevant children's work qualification
    and/or excellent knowledge and experience in the discipleship of children, leadership and mission with children and their leaders.
  • Proven experience of Salvation Army/Church children's programmes and structures and the knowledge of designing, implementing, and improving programmes.
  • Good communication skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and stakeholders.
  • A full UK/ROI driving licence.
