We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Theatre department as an Accounts AssistantKey responsibilities:
- Input and process invoices
- Reconcile bank accounts and petty cash receipts, journal entries, basic management accounts, comparing actual spend to budget and investigating variances.
- Assist Seniors with analysis and preparatory work
- Acquire a basic knowledge of tax and an understanding of the principles of personal tax rules and PAYE
- Assist with straightforward analysis and preparatory work for Seniors
- Work towards preparing sole trader, partnership and corporate accounts
- Communicate with the team to ensure client and Partner expectations are met on delivery and accuracy of work
- Liaise with clients to progress jobs
- Manage own time effectively to complete multiple tasks to appropriate deadlines
- Liaise with Seniors and other departments in order to efficiently and effectively complete jobs
- Have an appreciation for the sources of technical information
- Start to understand the firm's methodology
- Start to build an appreciation of professional ethics and standards
- Contribute to team and firm wide initiatives
- Assist with the induction and training of members of the team
- Work in collaboration with the team to share knowledge and ideas to improve communication
- Build knowledge and awareness of all aspects of the firm's services
- Support marketing initiatives as required
- Engage positively with the business and advocate the firm's values
- Take responsibility for own personal and professional behaviour
- Actively progress own learning and development
- Act with honesty, fairness and integrity in all dealings with clients, contacts and colleagues whilst respecting confidentiality and building trust
Continuing Professional Development:
- Meet all requirements of the firm's policy on CPD
- Identify own training needs and ensure these are met through appropriate learning
- Progress own Performance Development Review (PDR) and seek opportunities to develop new skills
General:
- Has an interest in the Industry

- Take responsibility for following the firm's procedures
- Meet all targets set by the firm
- Maintain client confidentiality
Reporting, relationships & management:
- Report to Seniors, Assistant Managers, Managers and Partners
- Encourage and maintain regular contact with clients and Partners to ensure deadlines are met
Technical, training & skill levels:
- Study agreed professional qualifications
- Learn technical and compliance skills with supervision
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct and practice
- Effective use of business tools
- Organise and manage time efficiently and effectively
- Start to develop confident communication skills
- Build rapport with peers internally and externally
- Start to understand other client facing service areas: audit, tax, theatre division, payroll
- Start to develop excellent client handling and relationship skills
- Build awareness of relevant financial targets and constraints
- Start to develop good networking and rapport building skills
- Understand need for continuous learning
Additional duties:
- Assist in preparing production accounts
- Build knowledge in a specialist area along with more general business processes.
- Assist client queries in a timely manner
- Be adaptable and take initiative.
