Become a trainer for Ruth Miskin Training

  • Read Write Inc._ is growing at an exponential rate.
We provide excellent training on the _Read Write Inc_. programmes and rigorous in-school support to ensure all children learn to read.

We need exceptional KS1 and reception teachers to join our seventy-strong team of trainers.

These positions are term time only and various contracts are available. There are also future opportunities to become a coach, project leader and filming trainer.


Recruitment process
You need Qualified Teacher Status, a full driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

  • Interviews
    Thursday 25th and Friday 26th May 2023 (consisting of group zoom call with Operations Lead and individual interview with Director)
  • Start date
    :4th September 2023
- _Note for filming: keep the children out of shot or unidentifiable unless you have permission slips for filming. Alternatively, you can film it without children present._


Responsibilities
Provide excellent training on _Read Write Inc_. programmes

Provide rigorous on-going support for schools, to ensure all children learn to read

After six months intensive training and support you will be able/expected to:

  • Work without the need of supervision
  • Teach any child to read _regardless of age, background or need_
  • Provide a high standard of training, keeping up with the latest online training
  • Make the best use of practice and coaching to improve your teaching and tutoring
  • Support schools on development days and progress meetings, using the online portal
  • Galvanise leaders and staff to focus on their lowest 20% readers, challenging them to keep up all pupils from the very beginning
  • Keep leaders buoyant and help them find solutions to overcome organisational barriers
  • Prepare diligently before a school visit using the school's halftermly data and provide leaders with clear next steps
  • Show evidence that in your schools, 90+% children meet the requirements of the Phonics Screening Check in Year 1 and 100% in Y as a direct result of their actions

Skills and qualities

Essential:

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status, full driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
  • Be an outstanding literacy teacher
  • Be able to engage and motivate teachers and leaders
  • Communicate clearly orally and in writing
  • Work well in a team
  • Be able to plan and prioritise work
  • Be committed to personal and professional development

Desirable:

  • A good working knowledge of _Read Write Inc_. programmes
  • Experience of teaching the programme as a class teacher or Reading Leader.
