Job Description:

Are you a Senior Project Surveyor looking to work on building projects that can change your local community and the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?


If so, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our team in our Eastern Region (Cambridge, Norwich and Peterborough) providing a comprehensive and value-driven service for clients in the public and commercial sectors.

About Our Team:

Our Cost Management team in the East of England are delivering all aspects of consultancy services.

This covers the whole project lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.

We have secured places on several frameworks alongside a core of regular repeat clients.

We are looking to expand our team to deliver an exciting mix of projects across a range of sectors including Education, Defence, Science, Commercial, Residential, Care, Industrial and Healthcare developments.


Responsibilities:


As a Senior Project Surveyor / Cost Manager, you will deliver in all aspects of the developments from project inception to completion.

You will work with an Associate or Director plus support from project surveyors, Graduates and Assistants to successfully manage and deliver several projects, varying in complexity.

Our projects typically range in value from £5m - £100m, with some over £250m. You will drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process.

Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry.

The role will require a passion for first-class service delivery, implementing best practices and continuous improvement.

You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring junior staff to deliver our Cost Management/ Services Cost Manager/ Employer's Agent service efficiently and effectively.


Core responsibilities include:

  • Ensure projects are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Be a key interface, and develop strong relationships, with clients.
  • Provide full Cost Management/ Services Cost Manager/ Employer's Agent duties to AECOM clients. Including feasibility estimates, cost planning, procurement advice, value and risk management, postcontract management.
  • Provide effective support and mentoring to Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Understanding a variety of project types/sizes/sectors.
  • Understanding of JCT and NEC standard forms of contract
  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk
