British Transport Police (BTP) are recruiting for an Intervention Co-ordinator within the ViSOR department on a full time, permanent contract.

The role is paying £32,757.33 per annum plus £3,033.56 London allowance and will be based in FHQ, London.


BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year.

The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing.

As an Intervention Co-ordinator you will be required to:

  • To provide expert advice to Policing posts, general response duty officers, specialist policing teams, stakeholders and partner agencies and suggest innovative solutions to target persistent and problem offenders.
  • To work with policing teams to advise on and assist in the implementation of formal and informal interventions and provide actions that reduce the opportunity for crime and the fear of crime for passengers and staff on and around the railway.
  • Gather and collate information and intelligence on offenders from Police, Community and partner agencies. Assemble and present evidence in Court where necessary to secure formal interventions to prevent further offending such as Criminal Behaviour Orders, Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and associated orders.
  • Work with Neighbourhood Policing teams (HUBs), front line officers and specialist policing teams to advise on and implement processes for recording informal and early interventions such as warning letters, acceptable behaviour contracts and withdrawal of implied permissions notices to ensure these interventions are used appropriately and correctly.

The successful Intervention Co-ordinator will be required to evidence the following:


Qualifications and Training:


  • Minimum GCSE grade C in English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent qualification
  • Educated to a Degree level or equivalent experience

Experience:


  • Proven experience in working in legalrelated administration, such as preparation and submission of case files for court.
  • Proven experience of reasoning and decisionmaking.

Skills:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including presentations skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills in most MS packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint and Access, plus familiarity with Internet and Intranet systems.

Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of the policing environment and the role it plays in the Criminal Justice System.
