Mast Group Ltd. are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join the warehouse team based in Bootle. Mast Group Ltd. is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of medical diagnostics products for the diagnosis of infectious disease. Our products are used throughout the UK and worldwide.The job holder will an integral part of the team, ensuring our processes and procedures are adhered to in all they do.
We require a Warehouse Operative to work as part of the warehouse team to receive, maintain and issue raw materials and finished goods accurately and efficiently.
THE ROLE
- Loading and unloading of vehicles either by fork lift truck or manual handling
- Ensure that all finished goods & raw materials are received in good condition, and without discrepancies
- Storing and rotating stock according to Company procedures
- Processing, picking and packing customer orders in a timely manner
- Maintain/create all Sage records required for the efficient running of the warehouse systems
- Perform daily rolling stock takes via the Stocktaking program
- Transport raw materials, finished goods between buildings
- Check and verify issues to departments from the warehouse are accurately and fully accounted for within Sage
- Responsible for the physical security of the warehouse and contents. This includes keeping the doors shut other than when a collection or delivery is taking place
- Maintain warehouse is kept clean and tidy at all times and handle any hazardous materials in accordance with Health and Safety processes.
- Working to tight deadlines and completing various tasks at short notice
- Report any problems or issues immediately to supervisor
- Repetitive light, medium and heavy lifting
- Undertake any other such activity as may be reasonably required by the company in the pursuance of its normal course of business.
- Work in a safe manner and comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental
- Working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (days only)
THE PERSON
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment would be an advantage including Stock control methods
- Be a team player, and be willing to cover all duties when required within warehouse departments at short notice
- The work involves elements of manual handling and manual handling restrictions are in force.
- Must have good communication skills, to be able to deal with all departments throughout the company, and to communicate with suppliers and visitors.
- Basic computer knowledge is required. Business Management system is Sage 1000
- Attention to detail is a must
- Willingness to learn and work to improve business efficiency
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Willingness to undertake training to improve skills
In addition to the specified duties the employee is expected to perform additional tasks when reasonably called upon to do so.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A clean driving license is preferred but not essential
- A counter balance forklift truck licence
