Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.


We are seeking to recruit a Teaching & Research Fellow (Health Economics) to join the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC).

This post is an excellent opportunity to join and contribute to both teaching and to conduct quantitative methodological health economic research.

The teaching component of the post will involve teaching and tutoring in the MSc in Clinical Trials which is a two year part-time distance learning course that provides in-depth training in the principles and practice of conducting large-scale, randomised clinical trials including a module on Health Economics for Clinical Trials and Patient Reported Outcomes.

In addition the post holder will teach and develop HERC short courses including the Integrating Economic Evaluation into Clinical Trials and the Introduction to Health Economic Evaluation both of which are primarily taught on line and related teaching and development of training materials for the NIHR Research Support Service.

You may also be required to take on an academic administrative role and contribute to curriculum development.

To be considered you will hold a PhD in health economics or a related quantitative area.

Strong track record of publishing in peer-reviewed academic health economic or related journals and ability to manage effectively own academic research are essential for this post.

Track record in undertaking methodological research relevant to health economics and decision science would be desirable.
