Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles.

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is initially day shift - 4 shifts Monday to Friday however an expectancy to be able to bel fully rotational 7 days/nights is essential during orientation and training period.

Enthusiastic untrained nurses with an aptitude to learn and develop themselves are invited to join the North Theatre department within Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

These posts provide an opportunity for HCSW to further their career after an internal programme to then go through an educational pathway with SVQ and clinical supervision that may lead to becoming a scrub assistant (Band 4) or perhaps supported through general training or scrub practitioner training within identified Further Education institutes.

You will have the chance to work with this patient group and the opportunity to work alongside and be supported by experienced nurses, clinical nurse specialists and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide essential training.

The working and learning environment is one where you can feel proud to provide a high standard of care to the patients and this role is perfect for a motivated nurse with an interest in Theatre Nursing.

The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and prioritise workload efficiently, the skill to deliver a high standard of quality care and the ability to further your personal development.
