Are you an experienced Senior Buyer looking for the chance to join a hugely successful business and further grow your career?


Our client with offices based in Peterborough is seeking an experienced and CIPS qualified (or similar) Senior Buyer with an electrical bias to join them on a full time permanent basis working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week to enhance their establishedpurchasing team.

This role could be considered on a hybrid working basis (2/3 days in the office per week) following induction and training period.


Responsibilities

As Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying cost effective parts or service suppliers for the organisation.
  • Supplier contract negotiations
  • Placing orders and monitoring stock levels to meet operational needs.
  • Ensuring approved supplier compliance.
  • Execution and delivery of business compliant purchasing strategy.
  • Dealing with supply chain delivery issues to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers and partners.
  • Cost reduction projects
  • Maintenance of accurate audit compliance paperwork.

Skills required
CIPS qualification or similar

  • Previous & recent buyer experience
  • Strong electrical buying experience
  • Experience of supplier negotiation
  • Strong interpersonal & written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent in MS Office with knowledge of MS Project and ERP systems or similar
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
