Job Profile
The International Programme Trust and Foundation Officer (IPFOTF) will develop and implement CAFOD's Trusts and Foundations fundraising strategy.

You will work alongside an International Programme Funding Officer (Large Trusts and Foundations) (IPFO-LTF) and will coordinate closely with each other and collectively manage your workload.


You will also:

  • Maximise income and support for CAFOD from national and international trusts and foundations
  • Work closely with your counterpart International Programme Funding Officer (Large Trusts and Foundations) to manage and develop a portfolio of existing and new relationships to achieve your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and income targets
  • Line manage a Trusts and Foundations Coordinator (Smaller Trusts & Foundations, Religious Orders & Associations)


The IPFOT works closely with programme and funding colleagues to develop high-quality programmes and projects that enable CAFOD and its partners to maximise income from Trusts and Foundations.

Through this work s/he helps extend the reach and impact of CAFOD's programmes in delivering positive and lasting change for some of the world's poorest communities.


Job Scope
The IPFOTF is based within the International Programme Funding and Business Innovation Unit.

(IFBI) S/he leads on establishing, maintaining and strengthening relationships with key global and/or UK-based Trusts and Foundations; developing and driving donor funding engagement strategies; leading on proposal development and contract management; identifying new funding opportunities and fostering innovation and shared learning among colleagues and partners.

Donor lead responsibilities are a significant component of this role; the post-holder will hold and develop expertise on a portfolio of donors.

S/he works with IFBI and funding colleagues within the Major Gifts and Philanthropy team, as well as with programme staff, thematic advisers and colleagues in the Finance, Information and Infrastructure, and Advocacy and Education Groups, to help build CAFOD's reputation and grow income across an agreed donor portfolio.


Accountability
The post-holder reports to a line manager within the Integrated Funding and Business Innovation Unit.

S/he is not a budget holder but will manage a Trusts and Foundations Coordinator working with Religious orders and Associations.

S/he is expected to work very closely with the Trusts and Foundations Officer (Large Trusts and Foundations), (IPFO-LTF).
Key Responsibilities

Strategy development and implementation

  • Develop, implement and establish a longterm strategy for Trusts and Foundations, Catholic Associations and Religious Congregations as well as annual workplans and budgets to meet Fundraising targets such as CAFODs No One Beyond Reach (NOBR) strategy.
  • Monitor regularly and forecast progress against longterm strategy, annual workplans and budgets with the IPFO-LTF) utilising different data bases across CAFOD as relevant
  • Contribute to the development of the IFBI strategy.

Prospect Research and Approach

  • To maintain up to date records of all communications with trusts and to ensure that all information is recorded accurately on the database
  • Maintain donor contact details in compliance with data protection legislation and fundraising best practices
  • To take responsibility for maintaining and administering current office systems
  • Participate and engage in processes such as the Funding Forum that seek to strengthen the integration of CAFODs approach to funding & Business Innovation
  • Research new prospective trust donors
  • Develop online media initiatives to engage with donors including maintaining the T & F webpage.

Relationship management

  • To research and evaluate new prospective trust and foundation donors and to work with the IFBI team to develop appropriate approach strategies
  • To cultivate relationships with existing and prospective trusts and foundations, including individual trustees where appropriate, through longterm support and commitment
  • To work closely with CAFOD's Programme Development and Funding Officers (PDFOs) in coordinating approaches to trust funders with those made to CAFOD's institutional funders
  • To work collaboratively with the other members of the IFBI team: in support of key meetings/events, partaking in team meetings and quarterly reviews of work and representing the section at MGP meetings as delegated by the Head of the IFBI Team
  • To cultivate relationships with Trusts and Foundations, Catholic Associations and Religious Congregations
  • Support CAFODs wider approach to Integrated Funding when needed
  • Oversee & ensure event logistics such as tracking invitations and responses, completing evalu
