  • We have four exciting opportunities in our Operations department to lead our Asset Performance teams.
14-month assignment - Suffolk North Team (Ipswich).
12-month assignment - Essex North Team (Blackwater)
Permanent x - Suffolk South Team (Stour & Colne) and Chelmsford Team.

These are key roles and as a motivated leader you will inspire a team of up to 15 staff, providing them with the tools and support required to undertake their roles in order to perform at their best.

You will shape your team and be responsible for its output.
Asset Performance is at the forefront of flood risk management, involved in many exciting projects.

The teams undertake asset management and prepare for incident response, they are responsible for maintaining flood risk management assets, making sure our assets are operating, fit for purpose and safe.

We inspect assets, record their condition, and plan repairs and refurbishment. We plan channel maintenance, create, and replace assets, engage and work with others, and manage asset information.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You'll be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

  • The team
  • As Asset Performance Team Leader you will report to an Operations Manager, whilst working closely with neighbouring Asset Performance Teams and our Field Operations Teams. It is a closeknit leadership group and everyone starting in a new role with the Environment Agency will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support needed.

Experience/skills required- Essential:

  • You'll be an enthusiastic and thoughtful individual with a clear passion to deliver real results for the environment through your team and others around you
  • Good people skills. Bringing people together and galvanizing staff to work to the team's goals.
  • Good communication skills written, verbal and an active listener
  • A passion for leading and developing staff, and helping people realise their true potential
  • Confident working with health, safety, and wellbeing procedures.
  • Capable of prioritising and handling complex workloads that involves riskbased decision making
  • Full UK driving licence.
It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had:

  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Experience in flood risk management and/or asset management. But you will be given all the training and support you need
  • Experience of managing budgets
