Job purpose

With exciting plans for 2023 we are now looking for an experienced Information Governance and Data Protection Officer to join our Company and continue to progress their career.


As the DPO you will lead on the organisational compliance with all legislation, regulations and best practice relating to the governance and management of information.

You will develop the Information Governance Strategy to drive forward best practice within the organisation to establish and embed it, to achieve transformational change in the management of information governance.

This is an exciting role to shape and mature with lots of opportunity for career progression.
Key duties and responsibilities

  • DPO act as DP Expert and single point of contact for all DP related matters and necessary approvals;
  • Developing and updating a local Data Privacy Policy and, where applicable, ensuring that any approved exemptions from this Policy are incorporated into the local policy;
  • Training and providing consultative advice to all the areas and departments with regard to Data Privacy matters;
  • Collaboration with all Senior Stakeholders across all departments throughout the company;
  • Collaboration with the unit(s) responsible to manage requests of Data Subjects to ensure compliance with DP requirements;
  • Support on drafting internal or external confidentiality agreement;
  • Coordination and management of responses to incidents involving Personal Data;
  • Deliver ISO accreditation to the Business
  • Act as initial point of contact for all data privacy related matters;
  • Responsible for ensuring that we as a group comply with all regulatory bodies;
  • Consider how the meaning of data affects business value and compliance requirements;
  • Focus on business processes surrounding data and physical information;
  • Risk management, data loss prevention, and auditing;
Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years in a similar role.
  • Degree Qualified in an appropriate discipline or relevant work experience
  • Practitioner certificate in Data Protection or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in communicating with regulators to ensure a positive and productive relationship is developed and maintained with key personnel.
  • Experience in ensuring Registrable Particulars are notified to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and are kept up to date and remain accurate.
