ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Script Editor/Producer plays an important role in the creative development of the Audible Original scripted drama podcasts.

This position will foster good working relationships with internal and external partners, working with writers and producers across multiple genres to edit and launch original drama series on our platform.

Audible drama is a dynamic and commercial vertical that delivers high quality storytelling in a wide range of genres.

We are proud to partner with the world's favourite creators and brands such as Neil Gaiman (The Sandman Acts 1-3), Sam Mendes (Oliver Twist), Jed Mercurio (Zoetrope), The Agatha Christie Estate (Murder on the Orient Express), Ubisoft (Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and The Division).

As well as super serving existing fandoms, you will work with a diverse array of new voices on original concepts.

The UK Audible Originals team are responsible for the creation of a large portfolio of ground-breaking, high quality listening experiences for a global audience in documentary, entertainment and drama.

We aim to inspire, challenge, delight, surprise and redefine the public's perception of audio.


ABOUT YOU


To support this mission, we are looking for an editorially proven and well-connected Script Editor/Producer to join our Scripted Drama team.

You will be an avid consumer of audio media with experience in audio, TV, film, or theatre; a self-starter with impeccable organizational and analytical skills; a confident and upbeat written and verbal communicator; dedicated to delivering high quality; highly organized and detail oriented; able to thrive in a high-energy entrepreneurial environment.

As an Audio Producer/Script Editor (Audio Drama) you will

  • Develop strong relationships with agents and writers and have experience reviewing a high volume of drama submissions and occasionally other audio entertainment formats
  • Read and edit scripts in order to ensure high quality output set out by the Content Director
  • Consider innovative modes of production such as spatial audio at the outset of every production
  • Liaise with peers in the Content Team and inspire all those around you including Marketing, Legal, Business Affairs, PR and the wider Audible UK team
  • Work closely with the production team, having a voice in conversations around casting, external production partners and giving notes on final audio
  • Have a natural ability to coordinate projects from acquisition through to release against demanding deadlines
  • Administrate the metadata, processes and financial detail involved in production and scripting

Basic Qualifications

Have 2-5 years script editing and/or scripted development experience in audio, TV, Film, or Theatre

Demonstrable experience of working alongside key professional services such as marketing, PR, legal

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly when delivering script feedback

A strong commercial sensibility in content

An interest in multiple genres from Rom Coms to SciFi/Fantasy and media fandoms

A passion for championing under-represented voices

Experience working with top-tier creative talent, as well as emerging talent

Ability to problem solve under pressure

A strong understanding of the current UK and US entertainment landscape

Preferred Qualifications

Some experience with deal and contract negotiation, licensing and permissions

A network of agent and author contacts

Experience in written storytelling for any medium
