Two full time posts - one permanent and one fixed term contract for 12 months from start date.

Thames Valley polices the large towns of Reading, Slough and Milton Keynes as well as the historic city of Oxford.

Forensic Services are a vital resource to the force and the current commitment for investment and transformation in this field is testament to this.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Fingerprint Laboratory Officer.

You will be working as part of a team within the Analytical Forensic Services portfolio to carry out forensic examinations, using specialist techniques to reveal and record fingerprint detail, to support the investigation of crime.

The hours are:

Main shift 08:0016:00 Monday to Friday

Weekend Working and on-call week in 4)

Week day late shifts and on-call week in 4)

Capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner, respond to call outs, attend crime scenes and to work flexibly.

Due to unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working public transport may not be suitable. For this reason a full driving licence is considered essential for this role.

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
