This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems as a 0.5FTE Senior Teaching Fellow (Innovation).

The post holder will work with the Lecturer in Innovation in the Life Sciences to deliver taught postgraduate courses, including 'Making Science Relevant to Policy and Decision Making and Innovation in Sustainable Food Systems'.


We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.


The Opportunity:


The post holder will deliver teaching, supervision and assessment for taught postgraduate courses in collaboration with lead academic staff, and optimize the use of existing courses as core or elective components of other programmes.

They will contribute to a series of Edinburgh Learning Design Roadmap (ELDeR) workshops to refine the structure and content of new courses.

An important component will be to help develop proposals for new courses, including contributions to market research, competitor analysis etc., and to ensure they fit within School aims and with School/College procedures.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Experience in course design in at least one area relevant to the new programmes
  • Experience in teaching in at least one area relevant to the new programmes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent information technology skills Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of colleagues
